"Eh?!?!? All we have to do today is practice throwing these ninja stars on targets?" asked Konohamaru. He believed that the task was too simple to do, and his confident smirl proved o. "How do we know that you're not just being lazy, Shikamaru-sensei?"
"Stop being so troublesome and just do it," Shikamaru replied as he went over to a chair and sat down. He laid back on it and began to reading a magazine.
"This is going to be easy, guys!" Konohamaru said. He picked up a shuriken and threw it all with his might. It barely went far and and had the accuracy of a man trying to find a needle in the haystack. "Gah, this thing is broken, Shikamaru-sensei!"
"No, it's not. You just need to practice with it more. Anyways, the rest of you, partner up and pick a target. We're doing this all day." The class listened and did as told. Of course, Konohamaru, Moegi, and Udon partnered up as usual.
As time past, the class slowly began the grasp the idea on how a shuriken should be thrown for it to be maximumly effective. Shikamaru finally stopped reading his mgazine and observed the students. "Kara and Claire are really good at it. As expected coming from the nature of their clans. Nego and Seto aren't so bad either. And Konohamaru..., needs some work..." He then walked over to the young academy student, who seem to be having a lot of trouble with it.
"Konohamaru-kun, that's no the way you should hold it! Oh hi, Shikamaru-sensei!" Moegi greeted.
Shikamaru nodded as he looked at how Konohamaru held the projectile. "A posture like that is just asking to be killed. You aren't ready to hit the enemy and and you pose a threat by even taking out the weapon. For shinobi, you don't dawdle on how it should be thrown. You just do it naturally. Practice on quick grab-and-throws, and you'll slowly get the idea on which way of tossing the shuriken best works for you!"
"Hai!" he replied.
"You two do the same. You guys may've already got the hang of it, but practice is a time interval within the day you should always spare to work on," instructed the sensei.
"Hai!" Udon and Moegi responded.
Shikamaru came back to his seat and stared at clouds graciously standing still without a care in the world. "Look at me! I'm telling students about things that I never cared for. The contradiction between what i do and what I say is becoming so troublesome..."
